WHAT WE BELIEVE
WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired Word of God and serves as final authority for us in all matters.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Samuel 23:2
WE BELIEVE God exists in three eternal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19
WE BELIEVE God the Father is both holy and righteous. He is the first person of the Godhead who sovereignly orders and directs the universe for His own purpose and pleasure. He is the creator, ruler and redeemer.
Genesis 1:1; Romans 4:17; Hebrew 11:3
WE BELIEVE Jesus is the Son of God. He became man without ceasing to be God. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on a cross shedding his blood to cover the sins of us people. He was resurrected from the dead on the third day and appeared to numbers of people. Forty days later He ascended back into heaven.
John 14:9; Hebrews 9:11-15; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Peter 1:18-19, 2:21-25
WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He resides with all believers who accept Christ as their Savior. He seals believers signifying our union with Christ and convicts us of sin. He abides with Christ followers to offer guidance and comfort.
John 14:15-17, 25-26; Acts 2:38–39; Ephesians 1:13-14
WE BELIEVE the Church is made up of all believers in Christ. It is a local self-governing assembly of believers, and its ordinances are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Matthew 16:16-19; Acts 2:37-47; Ephesians 2:19-22
WE BELIEVE salvation is the gift of God offered to man by grace. It needs to be received by personal faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved by the atoning blood of Jesus Christ when we repent of our sins, are baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE baptism declares a public confession of an inward profession of faith. The act of baptism symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a simple act of obedience to the Lord and allows us to become a part of the church when we follow through and commit ourselves to Christ.
Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-6; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Galatians 3:26-28; Ephesians 2:8-9,
WE BELIEVE communion was instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper when He transformed the Passover remembrance into the Last Supper. Communion is to be observed by those who have committed their lives to Christ. Communion is for all who claim a saving relationship with Christ, not just members of the local church family.
Matthew 26:26-29; Acts:20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34,
WE BELIEVE in the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. Though the timing of this “Blessed Hope” is a mystery, the fact of it is as certain as the first coming of Christ.
Matthew 16:27; 24:42-44; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 22:12-13
