We took a group to Haiti to work with the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (NWHCM) team from January 1-10, 2010. Part of our effort was to help build a new sewing room. During 2009 we collected several treadle sewing machines and sent them to Haiti. Many of the women in the church there will be able to use these machines to sew garments and earn some additional income in this severely impoverished area.
Our team returned safely from their trip just two days before the devastating earthquake hit on January 12, 2010. If you are interested in assisting in earthquake relief efforts, you can contact the NWHCM above or contact IDES.
